1) As she sings, Ariana muses about the songs she could compose on her piano. Do you play the piano?

I actually do play the piano there is nothing I love
to do more than tickle those beautiful Ivories

2) She compares love songs, saying there are sad ones about how hard love is, and happy ones that make you want to dance. What's your favorite love song?Is it sad or happy? 

My favorite love song  KEEPER OF THE STARS, it's a 

happy song this is the song Gator asked me to marry

3) Ariana's mother always told her that they took her name from Princess Oriana in the 1988 movie Felix the Cat. Who is your favorite cartoon character? Only 1 wow is this a tough one, I would have to say 


4) Ariana's favorite board game is Monopoly. 

What's your favorite board game?  I also love 

Monopoly, however we have been playing 



5) She relaxes by baking. When you feel keyed up,

 what do you do to relax?  I love cooking but when 

I get keyed up my relaxation is blogging.

6) She is a huge Florida Panthers fan, even though

 once, as a little girl, she got hit by a puck. Now that 

the NHL season is underway, how's your favorite team doing?  My favorite NHL team  5th in the Pacific division

7) In 2013, when this song was popular, the NHL 

reached an agreement with the players union and

averted a strike. Have you ever belonged to a union? 

 I have never belonged to a union, however

 my dad was a union member  until he retired

 

8) Also in 2013, Pauline Philips died. Ms. Philips 

was better known to millions of readers as 

"Dear Abby." At its height, her advice column

 appeared in 1,400 newspapers across the country. 

Do you still read a printed copy of your newspaper?

I read both digital and printed, it is nice to still see paper

9) If you could get the answer to one question about

 your future, what would that one question be?

wow this is a tough one also, I would ask where
I would be in 10 yrs

1. January is National Mentoring Month. Have you ever had a mentor?

Been a mentor? How would you rate the experience?

Yes I have had a mentor before and been a mentor

For me on both occasions I absolutely loved the experience.  It brings such
joy and pleasure knowing that child had some help getting over a speed bump 

2. What current trend makes no sense to you?

Baggie jeans on boys, I hate this look!  Just wondering how many of these kids know
how this got started

3. I saw a cartoon on facebook highlighting a few 'weird' things that make you happy as an adult. The list included-writing with a nice pen, having plans cancelled, freshly cleaned sheets, eating the corner brownie, cleaning the dryer lint screen, and sipping coffee in that brief time before anyone else wakes up. (Credit for the cartoon goes here) Of the 'weird' things listed which one makes you happiest? What is one more 'weird' thing you'd add to the list?
Have to agree with Joyce on this one love clean sheets.  A dirty bathroom is a BIG

pet peeve to me, so I guess clean bathroom

4. What's the last good thing you ate?

Homemade tuna casserole


5. Describe life in your 20's in one sentence.
The 20's for me was a big event, got married, divorced, re-married (what a mistake)  2 back surgeries, gall bladder surgery,  purchased a new home.

Happy 1st Sunday of the new year.  
We hope that everybody's new year is going great
ours has been very good so far.

We started off the new year with 5* temp with wind chill
of -15  buuuurrrr wasn't even good enough.
spent time with friends and family through this last week.

Willie is doing better each day (thank you for the prayers)
Gator has been learning some new songs on his guitar
mama gator is fighting off a cold
and me, I can't get sick as everybody needs me

I am having a minor surgery on Thur so I may be out
of commission for a few days   Gator assures me he has
it under control

hope everybody has a blessed day today

The story of the candy cane

Candy Cane History and Legends

Legend has it that in 1670, the choirmaster at the Cologne Cathedral in Germany handed out sugar sticks among his young singers to keep them quiet during the long Living Creche ceremony. In honor of the occasion, he had the candies bent into shepherds' crooks.

In 1847, a German-Swedish immigrant named August Imgard of Wooster, Ohio, decorated a small blue spruce with paper ornaments and candy canes. It wasn't until the turn of the century that the red and white stripes and peppermint flavors became the norm.

In Indiana, a candy maker wanted to make a candy that could be a reminder of Jesus Christ, so he made the Christmas candy cane. He started off with a stick of pure white hard candy. The white color symbolized the virgin birth and the sinless nature of Jesus, and the hard candy symbolized the solid rock which was the foundation of the church, and firmness of the promises of God.

The candy maker made the candy in the form of a J, which represented the name of Jesus and the staff of the Good Shepherds. He then stained it with three stripes which showed the scourging Jesus received, and symbolized the blood shed by Christ on the cross. When you break the cane, it reminds us that Jesus' body was broken for us.
